For international couples

Getting married in Vienna or establishing a registered partnership for people not resident in Austria (tourist marriage) is possible. Please contact the department for tourist weddings at touristenhochzeit@ma63.wien.gv.at. Please state the following for both partners: full names, preferred date of marriage or partnership, country of birth, nationality, residential address and marital status.

If you do not have sufficient knowledge of German because the marriage ceremony will be held in German, you will need a suitable interpreter to register for the marriage ceremony. For foreign nationals, the name (common surname) is based on their home law. More information on the website of the City vienna.
